Order and Chaos

Painting is a kind of struggle between order and chaos, manifested sometimes as structure vs. gesture, the rigorous vs. the romantic, control vs. abandon. The Disorder/Order paintings consist of pure line in various states of control and collapse.These paintings comprise a single gesture rotated four times. Is there a single coordinate or intersection where order breaks down and becomes chaos, or where disorder gathers itself up into order?
